Labor Day at Pickwick

This past weekend we were fortunate enough to spend time with our dear friends while enjoying beautiful Pickwick Lake, Tennessee. Our time consisted of: boat rides, ping pong matches, long walks, delicious food, and more boat rides-with an Alabama victory nestled in between. As soon as we arrived on Friday, we started off the evening with a sunset boat cruise before eating a Mexican feast! It was such a perfect ending to a busy week and the drive up.

Saturday was spent on the water and cheering on the Tide. Who says you can't sport crimson and white while in Tennessee? Not this girl. Our crew celebrated game day on the water, flags waving and all. Then we headed in to catch the game on the drop down projector screen. After hours of cheering, yelling, and queso, we were happy to see the Tide bring home their first win of the season! Roll Tide Roll!

On Sunday, we beat the rain by attending a small local church in the morning and playing games like intense ping pong and Mexican dominoes in the afternoon. That evening I brought out my homemade Alabama cutout cookies (check out the Southern Living recipe here). Since we were on a trip and pretty far away from home, I confess that the icing was store bought (and a little difficult to decorate with), but they were still sugary sweet, nonetheless.

Although we never slowed down and were sad to leave on Monday afternoon, the weekend was the perfect mix of relaxation, laughter, and fun spent with some of our favorite people.
